Born in Israel.
Graduated from State University of New York.
Worked for the New York State Narcotic Comission in Harlem, New York, collaborating with an art therapist.
Worked as a “Program Director” for the American army in Seul, Korea.
Specialized in Clay for ten years in Brazil. Had several one man shows as well as group shows in museums and galleries.
Lived for three years in France, working in Clay in St. Germain- en- Laye. Exhibited in Sarver Gallery and the Museum of Cannes
Returned to Brazil. Had individual exhibitions at Gallery Nara Roesler, and together with Jaques Buchholz at the Modern Art Museum (MAM)
In 1992 mooved to Istambul, Turkey,started research in wood and paper sculptures. This resulted in an exhibit at Galleria Nev, Istanbul.
Back in New York had a sculpture exhibit at 450 Broadway Gallery and a jewelry exhibit at Aaron Faber Galery.
In 1996 returned to brazil had several one man shows.
In 2013 dedicated her time to doing research on the jewish population in Bom Retiro. This work
united in an exhibition in the Museum of Energy in Sao Paulo
At the moment, the artist lives and works in São Paulo and continues to dedicate her work to images relating to Brazil.

OFRA GRINFEDER 1945, Israel/ vive e trabalha em São Paulo, Brasil
.Formou-se na universidade de belas artes-New York.
.Desenvolveu trabalhos em um presidio destinado a dependente químicos, no Harlem N,Y, colaborando com um terapeuta artístico, atuando depois como diretora de artes no atelier do exercito americano em Seul, Corrêa, promovendo e dirigindo cursos de pintura, joias e cerâmica.
.Durante dez anos no Brasil, especializando-se em cerâmica apresentando seus trabalhos em diversas museus, galerias e exposições.
.Esteve três anos na França dirigindo seu próprio ateliê em Saint Germain en Laye. Realizou exposições individuais em Paris , na Galeria Sarver, Galeria Actis, objet de arte em Porte de Versailles e no Museu de Cannes.
.Retornando ao Brasil, realizou a exposição “France –Brasil juntamente
com Jaques Buchholtz, no Museu de Arte Moderno em São Paulo – MAM, e outra de pinturas e na Galeria Montessanti Roesler..
.Em 1993, mudou-se para Istanbul, Turquia, onde iniciou trabalhos com esculturas de madeira e papel, que resulto numa exposição na Galeria Nev.
.Em 1995 montou um atelier em Nova York e realizou uma exposicaoe em esculturas de Papel na Broadway Gallery e de joias em papel, ouro e prata na Aaron Faber Gallery.
. De volta no Brasil, dedicou se a uma pesquisa sobre Judeus no Brasil que se terminou numa exposição Relatos Retratos no Museu da Energia em Bom Retiro, Sao Paulo
.Atualmente, vive em São Paulo e continua dedicando-se a trabalhos relacionados a imagem do Brasil.

As my life, my work reflects diverse cultures and traditions.
I deal with issues of identities on regular basis and my concern is that of “complacency”, a comfort zone that often is the ruin of an artist’s creativity.
It is a point where the work slows down, where the artist ceases to reach for new techniques or new ideas.
All these techniques and expressions are very much interconnected.
In my last exhibit, “Relatos Retratos”, I focused on making the paintings after knowing each individual’s life story.
In the new series portraits in clay “Spirits of Brazil”, I found that there was no consciousness of ideals but straight intuition and impulse.
My glass work is new for me, It reflects my love for the raw material. My ideal is to work with it as in clay, yet to show the translucency of the material.
Thus I continue....

Como a minha vida, meu trabalho reflete diversas culturas e tradições.
Eu lido com questões de identidades em base regular e minha preocupação é a de "complacência", uma zona de conforto que muitas vezes é a ruína da criatividade de um artista. É um ponto onde o trabalho fica mais lento, em que o artista deixa de alcançar para novas técnicas ou novas ideias.
Todas estas técnicas e expressões estão muito interligados.
Na minha última exposição, "Relatos Retratos", eu me concentrei em fazer as pinturas depois de conhecer história de vida de cada indivíduo.
Nos novos retratos da série em barro "Espíritos do Brasil", descobri que não havia consciência de ideais, mas intuição linear e impulso.
Meu trabalho de vidro é novo para mim, Ele reflete o meu amor pela matéria-prima, principalmente texturas. Meu ideal é trabalhar com ele como em argila, mas para mostrar a translucidez do material.
